"Cold nights on the waterfront"

A review of Dockers Club by A o neill - Wednesday 29th of April 2009

Hi my father and brother joe o neill sen, and joe o neill jun, also from ballymurphy were dockers many a time seen them coming down the steps on springfield road late in the evening cold and tired but always had a smile for the kids,i went down a couple to the waterfront as a kid and watched with amazement the men moving bags and grain from the hole of the ships and notice how friendly the men were, it was a had way to earn a living, lots of respect.
