"CHECKING STOCK IN A SPECIFIC STORE"

I have just spent 2 days trying to get a pair of shoes and although when I get through to the 0333 numbers they tell me that the item is in stock but when I went to get the item (30 miles!)it was out of stock. Surely it would be better for the customer to be able to contact the store direct and then be sure that

the item is in store.
